In a personal half-hour tarot reading
We will begin by doing a “general outlook” in which I give you a snapshot of what I see for the year ahead. Often, this beginning spread will answer many of the questions you may have. We then spend time focusing on the questions you want to ask. During our time, you can ask about anything you feel that you need to know.

In a personal 15-minute tarot reading
Our focus is specifically on your questions; we will spend that time on what you need to know for the immediate present.

How do tarot cards work?
The historical beginnings of tarot cards are not exactly known. We do know that tarot cards have been around for a long time. Originally, they were a game which evolved into a form of divination. A reader uses the tarot as a tool to guide his or her intuition. While reading tarot cards for a client, I have discovered that each card holds different meanings for different people. It is my ability to ascertain the individual meaning of the spread of cards for each person. No two readings are the same, even if the same cards are drawn.

I personally love working with tarot because the cards bring visual validation for the client as I share what I am “seeing” psychically.  When we connect with our intuition, we are connecting with sacred energy and the cards are the link to healing, clarity, and validation.

Though I have been reading tarot cards for over 20 years, I am still learning about this ancient divination tool. One can study the tarot all of their life, yet still not completely possess all of the information that there is in knowing about this system of divination.
Can anyone learn to read tarot?
Yes! When you can quiet your mind, you have a better chance of connecting to your inner wisdom. Some people can achieve this through mindful meditation. Just keep an open mind and practice, practice, practice. Anyone can memorize the meanings of the cards, but if you are not tuned into your intuition, it is like reading a book but skipping every other page. The book just doesn't make sense. Learn the cards but, more importantly, trust your instincts, sometimes that goes farther than you think!

Do realize that the answers you receive are based on the present moment. The end result can change in seconds due to your own free will and the free will of the people around you as well as shifts in consciousness. Be flexible with the outcome and don’t beat yourself up if your predictions or interpretations are off, it takes practice.

What is the best way to ask questions?
If you want to know about a specific person, ask very pointed questions that include as much information about the person as possible. If you ask vague questions, you will get vague answers. Providing a name and a birthdate is always helpful. If you have a picture of the person, you are welcome to bring it or email it to me. One thing to keep in mind as well, if you don’t like an answer, don’t ask again in a different way to obtain a more desirable response.

Also, rather than asking “will” or “when” questions, a better and more empowering way to ask would be “what do I need to know?” or “how can I?”

Be careful about asking health or legal questions as I am not a licensed doctor or lawyer. I can look at the energy around a particular situation and predict several potential outcomes, but can not diagnose, prescribe or give actual legal advice. It is wisest to consult a health care practitioner or attorney for this sort of detail. Some questions may fall into the realm of “none of your business.” For example, asking about your ex’s sex life with his new girlfriend may not produce any productive answers, so focus on issues that are directly related to your life.

Lastly, If you don’t want to know the answer to a question, don’t ask.
